Ms. Lynette Eastmond Attorney-at-Law has been identified as Deputy Director in Policy Formulation for the Barbados Labour Party now serving the country of Barbados in opposition.
Mr. Clyde Mascoll was named as Director. These two individuals are central to the continued strong poliy initiatives that have been traditionally proposed by a Barbados Labour Party in Government. Exceptionally strong policy makers have been a hallmark of the Barbados Labour Party in the persons of the Hon. Owen Arthur, Sir Richard Cheltenham, Tom Adams and Sir Harold St. John (both deceased) and Sir Henry Forde.
When in Opposition it is still the view of the Barbados Labour Party is that their role is to do more than simply criticise, so that the Party will ensure that it can make sound presentations to the people of Barbados.
Ms. Eastmond has developed many strengths over the years - she has been involved in both domestic and international taxation, trade and tax treaty negotiation, fiscal policy matters, business development and standards setting domestically and in the region to mention a few. During her tenure as Minister with responsibility for technology she was recognised by the United States Black Engineer magazine.
Ms. Eastmond of course will now be in the field dealing with matters of business from the perspectve of prcatitioner.
