Networking the BNI Way

Networking is one of the key elements in business development. Fundamentally the idea is that if you increase the number of people with whom youn interact then you will have a larger pool of people from which clients could emerge. In Barbados Business Network International is seeking to add structure to that process. BNI is a business and professional organisation that allows only one person from each profession to join a chapter. Last year members of BNI Worldwide passed 4.9 million referrals which generated 1.9 US billion dollars in business.

In February 2002 the first BNI Chapter was launched in Barbados. From launch date to the end of December 2006, members passed over 15,000 referrals, which generated over 6.5 million dollars worth in business.

On January 29, 2008 the Flying Fish Chapter in Barbados had its weekly meeting. The meeting gave eveyone an opportunity to promote their business and in addition to that members were able to refer business to each other. Meetings are at 7:00am and everything is done by the clock to ensure that there is no time wasting. You should check out this networking opportunity.

This is a great concept, the problem I have is thy expect you to pay the membership up front, it is easier if you can do it in installments like Dale Carnegie

Some BNI members said that they saved enough and then became members - they think it shows committment.

What do you need most to be successful in business?
